Introduction game, diagnostics, and class goals
– Greetings/expressions for everyday communication: idioms, culture, and skills to adjust to the American environment
• City Highlights Tour: walk along the Ohio River with a visit to the Evansville Museum
• Lunch with city officials (Mayor’s office) and free time in downtown Evansville
• Visit the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science – learn about US history and Indiana’s/Evansville’s history – lead by Thomas Lonnberg
• Visit the LST Wartime Museum – lead by Dr. James MacLeod
• Visit Berry Plastics Global Headquarters – lead by Jason Connelly


Evansville museum
The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science is one of the most prominent and significant cultural institutions in Southern Indiana, boasting comprehensive collections in art, history, anthropology, and science.

LST Wartime Museum
Founded in 2017, the Evansville War Museum showcases the scale of local wartime efforts through various artifacts and exhibits. Some notable attractions include a restored P-47 Thunderbolt fighter plane and a Higgins boat from the USS LST-325.

Berry Plastics
Berry Global Group is a global manufacturer and distributor of plastic packaging products, headquartered in Evansville, Indiana. The company operates more than 265 facilities worldwide. Together, we will visit this global headquarters in Evansville.

• Language and American Culture Lesson 2: American Culture Through Social Media
– Exploring American music, movies, and social life; discussions about pop culture trends
• Language and American Culture Lesson 3: American Slang and Expressions
– have fun with idioms, slang, and other expressions, using formal vs informal language in casual conversations
– US diversity in culture and language
• Saturday evening: Family Entertainment Center

Bosse Field
Bosse Field is a baseball stadium in Evansville and the third-oldest professional baseball stadium still in regular use. It is home to the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League, as well as high school and American Legion games. In the past, it has also hosted the Detroit Tigers' spring training, college baseball, high school, college, and NFL football, collegiate soccer, and concerts.
