BENEFITS OF EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL

There's no question that travel is incredibly beneficial for young adults. It will impact them in countless ways, from their academic performance, social awareness, relationships with others, to their maturity and perspectives. From our perspectives, educational travel offers:

1.) Improved Academic Engagement

Whatever subject or activity takes you away from home, taking it outside of the school environment allows students to experience it in a real and tangible way, fostering a deeper connection to their area of interest. Students see a new side of their subject that they are sure to learn from, and we place it in a context that is more exciting and inspiring than the controlled environment of school. In our surveys, many teachers find that high school students are more engaged in class and more committed to their studies after an overseas trip. Most importantly, educational trips teach students to love learning and to acquire additional knowledge and skills out of genuine interest.

2.) Expanded worldview

Traveling the world is an important part of developing openness, understanding and respecting other cultures and traditions. Experiencing the unknown and gaining insight into other ways of life helps to develop a more mature and balanced view of the world. Traveling not only gives young learners the opportunity to meet new people from different cultures, but also challenges prejudices and teaches students to think independently.
Through travel, students learn to examine their own ideas, beliefs, and the everyday reality they take for granted.

3.) Lasting Friendships

Nothing strengthens friendships more than exploring an exciting and challenging environment together. Through new experiences, young adults can discover commonalities and bond over shared passions, which strengthens existing friendships and creates new ones.
Meeting new people is a guaranteed authentic way to experience a different lifestyle and place, and students can make international friendships that would never have been made without traveling.

4.) Personal Growth

High school is a time of self-discovery, where students discover who they are, who they want to be, and what they want to do in the future. Travel offers all of this and more for all ages. Students who travel internationally will have the opportunity to experience a different kind of independence and learn how to respond to situations outside their comfort zone, increasing their confidence, maturity, and awareness.
Learning about the world and gaining life experience thoroughly prepares students for the future and quickly helps them become well-educated, responsible, and curious people.

Travel increases students’ chances of getting into university

When students travel, they discover a lot that is beyond general knowledge. This is especially true when they are transitioning from high school to college or university.
As a result of educational workshops and exposure to university classes, students gain the necessary perspectives about their areas of study and future career options.
